Worker Killed By Baggage Truck at LAX.

Los Angeles authorities have confirmed that a man was killed on Friday, February 21, after he was struck by a cargo truck on an airport service road at Los Angeles International Airport.

The accident occurred in the morning hours near Los Angeles Fire Department Station 80 at LAX.  The worker, whom authorities described as a man in his 50s, was operating the truck just before the fatal accident.  Investigators believe he fell out of the truck and into its path before being run over.

Authorities are unsure how the man came to be in the path of the vehicle, but believe he may have lost control of the vehicle while driving or suffered a medical problem.  The man was declared dead at the scene.

Officials at LAX stated that flight operations were not affected by the tragic accident.
