Postal Worker Critically Injured in Hit-And-Run Car Accident.

Police in Lynwood, California are searching for the driver who caused a hit-and-run car accident that resulted in a veteran postal worker being pinned underneath a parked car this past Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

Lydia Ray, a 20-year veteran at the United States Postal Service, was unpacking her postal truck in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. But then a driver erratically turned the corner of Santa Fe and Euclid Avenues. The driver crashed his car into a parked car, which in turn struck Ray and pinned the postal worker underneath. The driver of the car then fled the scene of the auto accident.

Bystanders rushed to lift the car off Ray, and paramedics rushed the injured worker to a nearby emergency room. Ray underwent two emergency surgeries and remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Ray’s family members are praying for her speedy rehabilitation and are asking the public to bring justice upon the driver of the hit-and-run car. Police released information that the car is a 1995-2000 BMW sedan, and is likely to have extensive front-side damage. The investigation of the auto accident continues.
