Walmart Workers Strike Over Widespread Harassment and Discrimination.

Walmart employees across the nation were striking last week, claiming that they suffer from unfair labor conditions.

Workers at nearly 30 Walmart stores around the country participated in the walkout.

Worker strikes at Walmart are rare. This is because Walmart strongly discourages its employees from organizing or unionizing.  Many employees have reported being intimidated when they have attempted to organize or explored the possibility of unionizing.

Likely in an attempt to avoid lawsuits, Walmart headquarters has advised its store managers not to punish or discipline striking workers who are participating in this national strike outbreak. In addition, however, managers have been advised to discourage the formation of any labor union by sharing relevant facts, opinions and experiences.
