Production Suffers in America Due to Workplace Injuries.

According to statistics form the National Safety Council, United States employers lost 55 million worker days as a result of workplace injuries in 2009.

This lost production from worker’s compensation personal injuries, combined with lost production from 255 million lost days for off-the-job injuries, resulted in nearly $375 billion in wage and productivity losses for American employers.

As a result, experts are urging employers to host return-to work programs to reduce lost production. These programs would allow injured workers to gradually return to full time work through light duty and other similar back-to-work programs.

Such programs will not only be beneficial to workers, who are able to continue earning a wage, but also to employers, who can save on the costs of replacing their workers and training new ones.
