Employers Add Fewer Jobs in April.

Boston, Massachusetts Worker's Compensation LawyerUnited States employers added just 119,000 jobs in April, 2012, the lowest number in months. Economists had expected closer to 170,000 jobs to be added after a gain of 201,000 jobs in March. The new numbers are a stark reminder that the road to recovery is a slow and gradual one this time around. Interestingly, a Labor Department report is expected to show that private payrolls actually accelerated in April, with unemployment remaining at a steady 8.2 percent. Manufacturers and construction companies were the primary culprit behind the low numbers. Service providers added a significant number of jobs, but most of the gain was from medium and small sized companies. Large companies added just 4,000 jobs.
