The village of Arlington Heights, Illinois agreed last week to pay out nearly $60,000 to two firefighters in two separate workers’ compensation claims. Firefighter Ryan Glendenning injured his left ankle when he stepped out of an ambulance and slipped on ice. The village settled his claim for $27,116.37. Another firefighter, Nicholas Buchanan, injured his left leg and knee while walking down a flight of stairs  carrying EMS equipment. His settlement is valued at $32,474.46.
